and Amanda have a significant coaching pedigree. Jon is British
Swimming's National Age head coach and also Britain's head coach
for the National Individual Medley Programme. In 2004, Jon was awarded
the British Swimming Coaches Association Alan Hime Award as Britain's
Young Coach of the Year. As well as being a nationally renowned
land training expert, Amanda is a strong and experienced swimming

coaches achieving on an international scale.
The partnership between Plymouth College and Plymouth Leander allows
academic excellence and sporting achievement to work hand in glove
in perfect unison. More than 24 hours per week in the pool is offered
to the scheme's Performance Squads with world class swim-specific
land training all on the same site, based in the College's gymnasium
and fitness suite. With Jon now in the role of director of
swimming at Plymouth College as well as head coach at Plymouth Leander,
the close-knit relationship between academic and aquatic success
is even more solid. Click below for more information about:

Our athletes
are truely world class. Since 2004, our athletes have won
European medals, competed in World Championship finals and have
broken 14 British records. The number of our athletes with
international experience is now 15, with 11 different athletes from
this programme having now been selected for Great Britain and/or
England. Our athletes hold national records in four different
countries around the world and since the inception of British Swimming's
World Class programmes, 13 athletes and 4 coaches from Plymouth
Leander have been selected for the scheme.
Working
as a team is important to us. This programme produces both
top male and female athletes as well as high achieving age, youth
and senior athletes. Plymouth Leander was named as Great Britain's
Top Male Age Group Club in 2005, after being declared runners-up
in the National Speedo League Cup Final in the same year.
The Western Speedo League title was to come our way in the 2004-2005
season. In 2004, this programme finished third in the Top
Female Club Award at the British Short Course Senior Championships
and third in the overall medal table at the National Youth Championships.
